Are you building a new building? Or remodeling an old one? Upgrading security systems? Well this page is designed to help you understand the different Grades of hardware.

Grade 1 is heavy duty commercial, Grade 2 is light commercial duty and Grade 3 is residential. The three most common decision factors between the Grades are usage cycle rates, branded or private label and price. Note, all Grades have a 3 hour UL fire rating. Below is a table comparing the different elements to help make a decision on the appropriate hardware solution for your need.

As you can see there is a significant variance in prices. Therefore it is important to compare apples to apples when looking at different hardware grade options.
