Below is our most frequently asked questions (FAQ) and answers. After that we have included our most common calls with the appropriate information we need to take care of you.

Question: What if I can’t verify that the car/house/office is mine or I should be in there?

Answer: We will need a letter of authorization from the owner of the car/house/office. If you cannot provide identification, or authorization we will not help you. I am sure the other car, home and office owners will appreciate your cooperation.

Question: Do I need to change my locks or just need my existing locks rekeyed?

Answer: Clarification, Changing locks is taking the whole lock, knob/lever, latch and strick and replacing it. Rekeying a lock is taking the existing lock cylinder (leaving the rest) and changing it so that your existing key will no longer work and a new one will. Note, most of the time you will just want your locks rekeyed.

Question: Can you bill my insurance company?

Answer: No, you pay us directly and your insurance company will reimburse you if it is in your policy.

Question: Will my lock still work after you open it?

Answer: Yes, picking a lock or opening a car does not damage the lock or car. Note, the exception is if the lock is damaged or needs to be drilled. Then the lock will need to be replaced.

Question: Are you available 24 hours a day?

Answer: Yes, we are available 24/7 to take care of you in emergency situations. But we do like to sleep occasionally so scheduling is preferable even if its a couple hours in advance.

Question: Will I be charged for the service call if the locksmith cannot get me in?

Answer: No, we do not charge if we cannot get you in. Note, there are exceptions or rare cericumstances for hits, but we will clarify this before we come out.

(b) I am locked out of my car/house/office.

(d) Someone has keys to my house/office and I need them changed.

(e) My locks/doors are having problems and I would like someone to come out and fix them.

(f) I need new/additional locks installed on my doors.

(g) Ummm, this is hard to explain… but let me try.

For every call here is the basic information we need:

– What is your name?

– What is your exact Address?

– Are you the owner of the car, house or office?

– How soon do you need it?

– Is this a good number to call you back at?

For the following situations, here are the specific questions we need answered.

(a) I am locked out of my car.

– What is the year make and model of your vehicle?

(b) I am locked out of my home/office.

– Do you live/work there?

(c) I lost the keys to my car.

– What is the year make and model of your vehicle?

– Did one key work everything?

(d) Someone has keys to my house/office and I need them changed.

– How many locks do you have to rekey?

– Do you have a working key for every lock?

(e) My locks/doors are having problems and I would like someone to come out and fix them.

– Can you please explain what you are experiencing?

– Has this slowly been getting more and more difficult or did all of a sudden this happen?

– Is it residential or commercial?

– Are we matching an existing set or system? Or all new?
